Legal and Fiscal Requirements: The NGO must confirm to all fiscal, legal and regulatory norms currently being followed in the country and must have the following documents:
the registration document (Trust Deed/Memorandum of Association)

80 G ( Tax exemption Certificate)
audited accounts for the past three years
The NGO must not have any religious and political affiliation

Criteria for selection of project
CAF India supports projects across diverse causes any where in India.
The project can address issues in a rural area or in an urban set-up. CAF India prefers projects which focus on reaching out to the bottom 10 states on the Human Development Index.
The project should aim at improving the lives of the poorest and marginalized sections of the Indian society without regard to their faith, origin or gender.
The project should engage public-private partnership. -CAF India looks favorably upon projects which try to leverage government funding rather than duplicating government services.
The project should aim at encouraging proactive engagement of community stakeholders in all development processes of the project. Preference is given to projects which aim at building capacities of communities to respond to their local needs and issues.
The project should produce measurable results which must be quantifiable and have feasible monitoring and evaluation indicators.
The project should have potential for replicability, scalability and sustainability.
