Details of the award:
 
Two categories of Associateships, namely Long-term and Short-term
Associateships are awarded.
 
I. Long-term associateship
 
 Duration: one year (not extendable).
 Entitlements: (a) Monthly Associateship amount @ USD 3000 or its
equivalent in the country of study per month; (b) Preparatory allowance of
Rs. 1,00,000/- (one time grant); (c) Cost of air passage in economy class by
Air India for joining the overseas laboratory and back.
 Age limit: not exceeding 45 years as on 31.03.2017
 
II. Short-term associateship
 Duration: Three Months or Six Months (not extendable).
 Entitlements: (a) Monthly Associateship amount @ USD 3000 or its
equivalent in the country of study; (b) Preparatory allowance of Rs. 50,000/-
(one time grant); (c) Cost of air passage in economy class by Air India for
joining the overseas laboratory and back.
 Age limit: not exceeding 55 years as on 31.03.2017
 
III. Other Benefits:
The Selected candidates may receive the payment of salary and continuance of
other service benefits by the institutions to which they belong. However, no liability
on any of this account will be borne by DBT.
 
IV. Service Bond:
Selected candidates shall be required to execute a Service Bond to serve in the
North-Eastern Region of India after their return for a period of one/two years
depending upon the duration/category of the Associateship awarded.
 
V. Last date for receiving applications:
Candidates should submit their applications through proper channel (only one hard
copy) as per the format which is available in the above mentioned website to Dr. T.
Madhan Mohan Adviser, Department of Biotechnology, Block-2, 7th Floor, CGO
Complex, Lodi Road, New Delhi -110 003 by 31st March 2017. A soft copy of the
duly filled application compiled in one file (MS Word) is also required to be sent to
email: nerbpmc@dbt.nic.in
