Rashtriya Manav Vikas SamitiNagdah, Begusarai Activities:
RMVS believes that the path towards meeting development challenges is through building the capacities of the community and giving them lead to take control of their views. They must be equipped with the various capacities that will facilitate them to achieve the target of development goals. Today, highly motivated 333 volunteers of RMVS fold are working in the remote villages of Begusarai, immersing themselves directly with target communities. A majority of the families that RMVS works with belongs to the most backward community of Bihar known as Musahar apart from other backward castes. RMVS follows an Eight-pronged approach to achieve its goals: Since its inception RMVS originally started focusing on literacy and disaster preparedness in Begusarai district. Gradually RMVS started exploring the other development needs of the communities in which key development issues evolved i.e. Livelihood and Environmental Programme. • Literacy • Government representation • Disaster Preparedness/ Disaster Response • Livelihood • Environmental programme. • Youth Leadership • Health & Sanitation • Agriculture & Horticulture
