Aim: The society purchased in 1999, ½ acre of land at Govindgad village,Nagpur district, to develop it into a good school and home for weaker sections children, regardless of caste, creed, race or religion and society has its own building with sufficient furniture & well equipped for quality education. Govindgad village are tribal, slum-dwellers areas and that the people are economically very poor, daily wages, labors, they are living hand to mouth and they are busy earning their daily bread. There is no school in the periphery 8-9 kms. In 2000, we started Pre-school (Non formal education ) and Indira Shanti Niketan Primary School (grade 1st to 8th pattern) in Semi-English Medium was established 2006,recognized by Government of Maharashtra, Deputy Director of Education and Education Officer, Nagpur in an Unaided Basis, means without any assistance from the government. Our sole motto is to educational opportunities, promotion of literacy for the weaker sections children. We provided free education of all children as per RTE Act, 2009 besides we also provided uniforms, books, note books, school bags, some time mid-day meals and access of educational materials. The religious background of our school children are eclectic: Hindu, schedule caste, schedule tribs, other backward castes, muslim and mix background. Objectives : Provide free quality education to underprivileged children, with a special focus on girl child education, in the rural pockets of Nagpur, India Transform students into educated, confident, responsible and self-reliant employable citizens of the country with a deep sense of commitment to their society Encourage active involvement of the community, parents and like-minded organizations Make a lasting and sustainable impact on the community where schools are present, inciting community education Find innovative solutions, through its elementary schools, to create replicable and scalable components in the program to facilitate delivery of quality education. Mission: Indira Welfare Education Society’s mission is to implement programs for upliftment of the underprivileged, illiterate, poor and backward people of mainly the Govindgad and surrounding areas by way of motivation and human resources development thus building a self-reliant society by efficient and effective utilization of local resources and implementation of environmentally sound policies. We motivating & counseling the parents on importance of an educating the child. We have been encouraging the down trodden children by providing free of cost education, uniforms, books, school bags, note books, footwear, biscuits, chocolates and mid-day meals every working day etc. Elementary education covers the primary (6-11 years) and upper primary (11-14 years) age group. Elementary education plays a very important role in child growth, as it enables skill development. Since independence, India has made impressive progress in terms .Indian Government helping lot in the field of education but however the ground realities are very different.
