Mission Statement Divya Disha is a community that seeks to be an agent of change, empowering individuals and organizations in their journey towards holistic development. Objectives •Rehabilitation of youths and children living on the streets •Providing primary education for children in the slums and at construction sites. •Ensuring the right to education for child domestic workers. •Campaigning for the Rights of children in Government, Private and Community Schools. •Working with adolescent girls and youth in the twin cities. •Working on issues related to HIV& AIDS, sex and sexuality. Advocating for the issue of Children •Divya Disha has been instrumental in bringing the state level ban on Corporal punishment in school in 2002 and has been working on this issue at the national level and in the states of Orissa, Karnataka, and Maharashtra. •Divya Disha has been one of the agencies that went to court for addressing the issue of Adoption in the state of AP. •Divya Disha is on the Adhoc Committee for Andhra Pradesh Alliance Network. •Divya Disha is the Convener for the Hyderabad Child Rights Network (HCRN) •Divya Disha is a member on the National Task Force for CHILDLINE India Foundation. •Divya Disha is on the State level Committee for Co Management of Juvenile Homes. •Divya Disha is on the State Executive Committee for Campaign against employment of children. •Divya Disha is a member of the District Vigilance and Monitoring Committee on Atrocities on S.C and S.T. •Divya Disha is a member on the State Academic Support Group of Sarva Siksha Abhiyan (Rajiv Vidhya Mission). •Divya Disha is a member of the State Core Committee on the Adolescent Education Programme. •Divya Disha is on the Executive Committee of Emergency Medical and Research Institute (EMRI) offering the 108 services launched in Hyderabad and Secunderabad. •It is the Regional partner for initiative for children in need of care and protection for National Institute of Social Defense. |
