Rural Organisation for Social Service(ROSS) is an ngo working Darrang district of Assam on the following issues:
a) to undertake schemes for the promotion of socio economice,cultural and educational condition of the weaker section of the society especially of the S.T and rural people in the state of Assam.
b) To the provide free education for the children belonging to S.T. and poor families through establishing of primary , secondary and Higher secondary school
c) To organize Fishery farms and Agricultural farms at the private and co-operative sectors 11 Main objectives of the organization
d) To the undertake measure for the mental upliftment of the children through training in fine arts and cultural activities live music, drama etc.
e) Help self-employment to the school dropped youths belonging to ST/SC/OBC/ and other weaker section of the society through entrepreneurial development and training in weaving , tailoring ,knitting. embroidery and computer education etc.
f).To promote sportsmen spirit among the student by encouraging games, sports etc
g) To provide free coaching for the educated youth and girls belonging to weaker sections of the society in order to enable them to complete with their counterparts in other states.
h) To provide free Medical treatment and Aid for the S.T,SC. And other poor people living in rural area through mobile dispensary/ ten bedded hospital etc. .
i) To render assistance to the people affected by natural calamities like flood, storm, earthquake, epidemic disease etc.
j) To undertake measures for the maintenance of environment through tree plantation, mass consciousness about the adverse affect of deteriorated environment etc.
k) To undertake measures for the shelter and self- employment of the disabled, street children and drug abuse people.
l) To undertake measures for the welfare of both wild and domestic animals.
m) To render medical and other relief to the poor old people through day care centre, old age home etc
n) To hold periodical seminars and discussion for creating consciousness among people with regard to their rights and duties embodied in the constitution.
o) To take such measures that is sure to encourage the people of different caste and creed to live together in harmony.
p) To provide legal Aid to the deprived person especially for rural backward area’s women & child, ST/SC/OBC and all others backward person which are living below poverty line.
q) To open diary farm for disable women to raise their livelihood so that they can to give them vocational technical training in different sections such as
(I) computer education
(.ii)scooter/ Motorcycle/ Car/Auto mechanical & driving training,
(iii) cutting/ knitting / embroidery/ weaving and Handloom & Textile Training.
r) To provide special women & child development, we desire to plan to setting up of employment & income generating training cum production units for women, for working women hostel & buildings, day care centre and awareness generation programmed.
