The science centre is working with the main objective of Rural development, building scientific temperament in Rural areas, Transfer of technology & Dissemination of information to rural areas since 15 years. Our activities mainly conducting Science & Technology exhibitions, Seminars, Training camps on low cost Teaching aids, Science writing Workshops Training on developmental journalism, puppetry Training Mathematics through Origami, Environment of Rural areas Programmers on Scientific Agriculture & Consumer Awareness, e.t.c. We are publishing magazines ‘GRANTHALAYA MATHUKATHE’ [Library dialogue] 2000 copies circulation. ‘ JANA VIJNAN ’[ People’s Science ] 2500 coppices circulation entire Karnataka State. Science centre having a branch at sagara ‘vijnan’ Computer’s and D.T.P.Centre in branch office is in rented building, having at all office equipment, Phone, E.T.C. We are giving the computer training for rural women’s Youth’s, Government employs, college students, unemployed men& women’s. We are also running regular course on self employment training courses, eg, screen printing, tailoring, carpentry, Rainwater harvesting systems and 35 various courses. Award/Prize/Certificate, E.t.c.. K. Venkatesh Gen, Secretary won the state youth Awardee [1988 - 89], Govt, of Karanataka. Shimoga Dist, Youth activates Awarded from Nehru yuva Kendra Shimoga State Award . ‘ SANDESH’ for best active N.G.O. in feild of Science & Technology Popularization Centre has published 8 Books on various subjects. Permanent Assets: School building is giving by Dept, of education, Govt, of Karnataka Centre having own building , own land 2.5 Acres in Aralekoppa village in Kalammane Panchayath. Olney 1.5 K.M from Sagara twon limit. Science and Techanology exibition materials, Necessary office equipments, E.T.C. Origination has 8 full time worker and 25 part time voluntaries.
