Mission
SARTHI works to empower the disadvantaged communities with an overall mission to develop self-reliant among them through a self-help approach – particularly for women. Our strategy includes implementing programs on improving economic status, natural resource development, holistic health and hygiene.
Objectives:
• Promote activities relating to the management of natural and human resources in rural communities. This is done mainly using strategies for optimal long-term use of land and water resources, higher levels of productivity through improved technology, and appropriate innovation and management techniques.
• Strengthen people’s institutions at the village level, enhance empowerment of local women, and facilitate self-reliance of the local communities through holistic health, economic empowerment and education.
• Encourage a process of collective self-empowerment whereby local people begin to develop the capacity to assert greater control over their developmental problems. The efforts are directed towards building the capacity of the stakeholders to take a more active and permanent role in the initiation, planning, implementation, operation, maintenance and evaluation of the programs.
• Develop capacities of communities to assert greater control over their developmental issues, demand, access and enjoy their rights and entitlements from the State
