The CARE, The Centre for Alternate Rural Employment Trust has started in the year 1996 with the focus of empowerment through concentration, mobilization and networking the issue-based groups.
The CARE, ever since its inception, has strived towards transforming the oppressive and unjust social relations through changing the mindset of the privileged and empowering the deprived. The struggle has been on for the past 10 years. In the course of initiating and facilitating a process of change in the community, the institution of CARE itself has undergone radical changes. Its vision, mission and goals have been repeatedly revisited and redefined. Its strategies have been modified and redesigned, but all these, without moving away from CARE’ s original goal of “Service to Service less” and the vulnerable to identify issues that affect their lives and strive towards sustainability”.
