POSITION SUMMARY:The Field Manager will work fulltime on the “Climate Resilience through Risk Transfer” project and will operationally report to the Project Manager

The incumbent will be responsible for the implementation of the project in Muzaffarpur district in the selected intervention area with the identified target group. She/he will carry out activities needed to achieve the project objectives as defined by the Project Implementation and Management Unit (PIMU) based in Delhi in close collaboration with the local field partner under guidance of the Project Manager within the PIMU.

The project aims at enhancing the resilience of vulnerable communities to climate change by developing and testing microinsurance solutions among climate vulnerable communities in India, with a scope of implementing the tested solutions elsewhere.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
•Management of project in field location;
•Administration of field office and field staff;
•Supervising field staff (upto 10 field coordinators)
•Monitoring of project activities in target locations (intensive travelling in field required);
•Reporting and documentation of project activities including financial reporting/accounting;
•Training and capacity building of field staff;
•Keeping cordial relationship with local field partner (NGO) and coordinate implementation with field partner;
•Networking and strengthening working relationships with relevant stakeholders;
•Mobilization and continuous strengthening of community-based groups (SHGs etc.)
•Helping conceptualize and develop tools for implementing insurance schemes;
•Assisting in the preparation of reports and publications;
•Conducting field research according to PIMU requirements;
•Any other related task as instructed by the supervisor (PIMU/Project Manager).   

Qualifications required:
•Master’s degree in a relevant field;
•At least 5 years of experience in project management 
with exposure to a variety of research methodologies;

•Experience in conducting field research would be an advantage;
•Excellent writing and communication skills in English, Hindi and local dialect;
•Ability to work independently and as part of a team, and to deliver results within a strict timeline;
•A commitment to BASIX' mission and values;
