DESHPANDE - RUDSETI
Deshpande Rural Development & Self Employment Training Institute came in to existence in Haliyal Town, taluk headquarter of Haliyal Taluk of Uttara Kannada district, with the mission of empowering the rural youth, with the spirit of self-respect and power of self-employment by exploring their ability and skills. The Institute started its functions fake taschen and also commenced courses from July 2004.

1. Philosophy of Deshpande RUDSETI :
The entrepreneurship development can take place in short duration intervention. It does not begin from “zero level”. Generally young people have gained some experience in life. This experience serves as a launching pad for accelerated training. It is therefore possible to train young people in short period 1 to 4 weeks to enhance and enlarge behavioral dimensions such as increased awareness, understanding, knowledge skill and formation of positive attitude. The training can be effective if it is residential. Campus approach helps the participants to shape their attitude and personalities and effective Team Building Skills. The duration of this learning is stretched beyond structured hours in this approach.

Objectives and Scope of the Institute :
1. To identify, orient, motivate, train and assist the rural youth to take up self-employment as an alternate career.
2.To promote rural entrepreneurship
3.To train prospective women entrepreneurs to take up income generating activity.
4.To train and orient women Self Help Group for taking up income generating activity.

Highlights of our Institute :
1. Individual attention to all beneficiaries
2. Special attention to women empowerment
3. Free training with free food and accommodation.
4. Post training follow up for two years after the training through regular correspondence, unit visits, village level meets, individual contact.
5. Campus approach, practical orientated syllabus, business simulation exercises, experience sharing, role-play, field visits etc. are the methodology we adopt in our training
