Background and Context: Save the Children, Jharkhand in April, 2012 had launched a project “Helping to Save the Lives of Newborns in Nala and Saraiyahat blocks of Jamtara and Dumka districts of Jharkhand” using the approach of home based new born care (HBNC) and creating awareness among the community regarding MCH issues. The project has completed three years which gives us an opportunity to evaluate the progress of our project.
Purpose and scope of the study:Evaluation is a strategic process which looks at programme implementation, the results and impacts achieved based on log frame of the project. Save the children is commissioning the assignment of end term review of this project in order to:
Assess the impact of the project as stated in the Log frame. ( Log frame attached) Assess the processes undertaken in the project and critically seek understanding whether the processes are in line with the state objectives, and are contributing to the achievements. Identify lessons learned during the project, its challenges and suggest the useful actions to guide for improvement in the strategies.
