Advanced Training on EC Proposal Writing - Logframe, Concept Notes and Full Proposal
Karl Kübel Institute for Development Education - India October, 12th to 14th 2011 KKID pleased to inform you about the above mentioned workshop which we offer at the Karl Kübel Institute for Development Education, Coimbatore (http://www.kkid.org/). Target group Mainly senior Development practitioners from development organisations dealing with conceiving new projects and proposal writing but also participants involved with activities of project cycle management, monitoring and evaluation, coordination of projects / programmes in all fields. Participants should have previous knowledge of advanced concepts of the PCM approach and Objective Oriented Project Planning (having followed the PCM Introduction or similar workshop) and are in a position to formulate or at least assist in Concept Notes and Full Proposals in line and with special reference to current EC application procedures. Judging the quality of an impact oriented Logical Framework as an integral starting point for the writing of a potential development project proposal and as a structuring tool for the subsequent formulation of an EC Concept Note and/or Full Proposal. Formulation of “sound” indicators for “output”, “use of outputs” and “impact”.
Understanding the differences of the two currently applied Concept Note formats with its consequences on the formulation practices and evaluating Concept Notes according to the existing evaluation criteria. Being relevant to Donor Objectives and Priorities and writing proposals that respond to the main criteria such as effectiveness, methodology and sustainability. Objective
Participants should be aware of relevant tools and concepts to adequately assess and review logical frameworks, concept notes and full proposals and thus become able to formulate proposals themselves. Contents
Based on complete and assessed logical frameworks, concept notes and full proposals participants will
- discuss and refine examples of current/recent projects that have been submitted and - understand the reasons for their acceptance or refusal, as a lasting input for further improvements of future proposals. - 28 years of Experience in Government and Non Government sector in development co-operation. Long-term experience (total 15 years) in project implementation and management in agricultural and rural development in Asia, Africa and the Caribbean. Vast short term consultancy experience in Asia, Africa and Latin America in agricultural/rural development, agricultural research and extension, fishery and emergencies.
- Numerous animations and moderations of planning workshops and training sessions and evaluations carried out for bi- and multilateral Government and Non Government Organisations. Registration and organisational details: Cost per person for the three-days workshop are 22.500 Rs. / 390 Euro incl. food / accommodation, transport from station /airport Coimbatore to KKID and training materials. The costs have to be settled directly with KKID, Coimbatore, India. Taxes as applicable will be extra and shall be borne by the participants.
