Social Innovation Immersion Programme (SIIP) Fellowships

Applications are invited for Social Innovation Immersion Programme (SIIP) Fellowships:  SIIP is the Social Innovation Immersion program of SPARSH which intends to create a pool of "Social Innovators" who can identify needs and gaps within communities and then can help bridge the gaps either through an innovative product development or services.

Under the SIIP programme, BIRAC has identified a few centers nation-wide for implementation of the programme. Venture Center in Pune is one of those centers, who help provide a whole host of technical, business and implementation mentoring to the fellows.

Focus of this call is on the theme of "Sanitation and Waste to value"

Technical Themes
 
Waste Generation 

Fecal Waste: Toilet design (for min wash water, min power) Waste from open defecation and animal/pet fecal wastes

Municipal solid wastes including food waste

Other wastes (ex. Urine, menstrual fluids, bomed waste) (Ex. slaugherhouse waste,dairy waste, industrial waste) (Ex. Garden wastes); Degradable diapers/napkins.

Waste processing/treatment/storage

Treatment methods, Separation, Disfenction and disease preventio. Odour menimisation, Alternatives to septic tanks, Enroute treatment, Biocontrol strategies for disinfection.

Decentralised central processing, sensors Green hosue gas reduction

Biological processes for disinfection or degradation, water treatment, reduction of emissions.

Waste disposal value addition

Manure,Energy,Biogas,Degradation using microbial consortia,gas value addiction,Reuse of gray water
