Awards and Jury
There will be a first and second prize in each of the five categories - print, web, photo, TV and radio. The first prize in each category is ₹ 50,000 and the second prize ₹ 30,000.
In addition, the winner of the first prize in the print media section will get the opportunity to participate in a two-week advanced workshop on environmental reporting, organised and implemented by Deutsche Welle Academy during the UNFCCC Conference of Parties in Warsaw from November 11 to November 22, 2013. The advanced workshop is preceded by a preparatory E-learning module in October, 2013. To avail this opportunity, it is mandatory to participate in both E-learning Preparatory Workshop and the Advanced Workshop in Warsaw.
The jury reserves the right not to award a prize in any category if none of the entries is up to the mark.
The event to award the winners will be held on October 24, 2013 as part of the IFAT fair, India’s leading trade fair for water, sewage, refuse and recycling, where GIZ is the knowledge partner.
The five member jury will consist of journalists, technical experts and representatives of the organising institutions.
Three journalists from FEJI with no conflict of interest
One representative from GIZ
One journalist from The Third Pole
The decision of the jury will be final.
