Free Computer and other Trainings

Computer Training and Spoken English Programme at Divya Jyothi
Charitable Trust, Mysore

Divya Jyothi Charitable Trust, Mysore, is offering courses in Computer Training, Spoken English, Braille teaching (manual and brailler), Personality development, Mobility training, Home management, Chess and
gymnasium  for visually impaired students, free of charge. The course duration is One Year, starting from April 2014 to March 2015. The date of commencement is 21 April 2014.

The course covers:
 
1.        Basic spoken English
2.        Computer operations such as:

a.     English computer typewriting (40 WPM)
b.      Working with files and folders
c.      Creating and managing user accounts
d.      CD/DVD burning, scanning books on Windows XP and Windows 7
         operating systems
e.      MS Office 2007 applications such as MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint
f.      Configuring Outlook express
g.      Use of E-mails
h.      Internet browsers; Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox etc.
i.      Instant messaging, voice messaging
j.      Using applications for screen readers such as JAWS13, NVDA,
        Kurzweil operation, and E-speak for regional language.
k.      Dropbox.
l.      Accessing social websites.

The One Year course includes counselling for employment training,
career guidance, soft skills and personality development.

Faculty:
Many eminent personalities in professional training, skills development, and employment counseling would be involved in guidingand assisting the candidates during the training program. Through computer literacy and spoken English training, the course aims to enhance the candidate's employment prospects and all round
development.

Eligibility criteria:

1.      Partial or full loss of vision.
2.      SSLC Pass
3.      Age limit: 18 to 35 years

Students who are pursuing their education after SSLC in regular colleges /correspondence course, as well as students who have completed their education are all eligible for this course. Students can join this course along with their regular colleges.

Other Important Information:
1.  Number of seats: 10
2.  Caution deposit: Rs 1000 (refundable)
3.  Last date of admissions: 15 April 2014, No admissions will be
entertained after 15 April 2014
4.  Hostel accommodation will not be provided,   but pick up and drop
Service will be provided only for     girls (free of charge)
5. Midday meals will be provided (free of charge) for all students.

1.        Attested photo copies of; Date of birth, caste and income,
blindness certificate.
2.        3 passport size photos.
