Job Title: Livestock Specialist Location: Delhi, with extensive travel to field areas in Bihar and Maharashtra Apply by: 20/12/2014 Apply to: consultingjobs@basixindia.com POSITION SUMMARY: The Livestock Specialist will work fulltime on the “Climate Resilience through Risk Transfer” project and will operationally report to the Project Leader. The project aims at enhancing the resilience of vulnerable communities to climate change by developing and testing microinsurance solutions among climate vulnerable communities in India, with a scope of implementing the tested solutions elsewhere.The incumbent will support by focusing on the replicas audemars piguet development of realistic practices related to livestock management and will contribute to turning research insights into tools that support the implementation of new insurance schemes. The incumbent will also develop conceptual framework for the livestock insurance practices along with research on risks due to catastrophes ESSENTIAL DUTIES: •Work conceptually on livestock management, microinsurance and research related matters and develop tools for implementing insurance schemes; •Involved in developing new livestock insurance concepts beyond coverage of mortality, e.g. coverage of milk production risks or disease; •Design the insurance business processes related to the livestock insurance benefits to be implemented; •Travel to the field to assist the trainers in the training of the field staff and community office bearers of the microinsurance scheme related to the livestock insurance replica orologi component of the project; •Identify and implement (incl. field visits) additional services which aim at reduction of livestock rearing risks of the target community, e.g. related to fodder camps, vaccination and deworming programs etc. •Conduct quantitative and qualitative field research, including case studies and evaluations as well as desk research; •Assist in the preparation of reports and publications; •Conduct field research with effective tools and methodologies; •Any other related task as instructed by the supervisor (Project Leader). Qualifications required: •A Master’s degree or above in a relevant field, preferably veterinary science or related disciplines such as environmental sciences; •At least 3 years of experience in research with exposure to a variety of research methodologies and implementation of livestock related activities; •Experience conducting field research, especially in the area of livestock and insurance; •Excellent writing and communication skills in English and Hindi; •Ability to work independently and as part of a team, and to deliver results within a strict timeline; •A commitment to the BASIX' mission and values; •Demonstrated high professional and ethical standards. orologi replica
