Yuwa India is seeking passionate individuals for Teaching Fellowships at Yuwa’s school in Ranchi district, Jharkhand.  Teaching Fellows get a professionally challenging and rewarding experience developing future leaders among rural girls, and will be the first batch working at the Yuwa School.

Fellow responsibilities will include teaching students in standards 2 – 9 from a primarily English Medium curriculum, designing creative lesson plans, developing curriculum, participating in regular teacher training workshops, and contributing to a positive and energetic learning environment. The Yuwa School’s atmosphere is one of collaboration and mutual learning.

Candidates must be excited by the mission of creating a low-cost, world-class educational experience for girls in villages from ST, SC, and OBC backgrounds.

About Yuwa:Yuwa is an internationally acclaimed non-governmental organization that uses football and education to put girls in charge of their own futures. Yuwa is registered as a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization in the USA and as a Trust in India. Yuwa is based in villages in the Ranchi district of Jharkhand, where girls are especially at risk of dropping out of school, early marriage, gender-related violence, and human trafficking. Through the creation of football teams, girls gain leadership skills and confidence, continue their education, and are less likely to be forced into child marriage. Here, teamwork is a powerful force to promote health, education and improved livelihoods among the most important agents of change—young women.

About the Yuwa School 

In June 2015, we will launch the first phase of the Yuwa School for Girls in Hutup village, Jharkhand. The vision of our school is: Every girl’s future in her own hands. Our mission is to enable students to reach their full academic potential, develop critical and creative thinking skills, and become compassionate, empowered leaders in their communities. 

Our current campus will support up to 50 students. The school will run on this campus for two years until the purchase and building of our permanent campus is complete. 

During the first phase of the Yuwa School (May 2015 – Feb 2017), we will support the following programs: 

1.     Primary School (Grades 1 – 7) – Up to 40 girls 

In the primary grades, girls will focus on developing academic foundations in math, science, language, and social studies. Classes will be taught in a mix of Hindi and English, but curriculum will primarily be in English. 

2.     Secondary School (Grade 8) – Up to 10 girls 

This small group of secondary students will be studying English curriculum at an accelerated pace with the goal of preparing each student for admission to top universities. This special group of girls has been chosen based on outstanding work ethic, academic potential, positive values, and demonstrated leadership abilities.

The Fellow’s responsibilities will include:

Teaching students in standards 2 – 9 from a primarily English Medium curriculum
Developing curriculum
Designing creative lesson plans
Regular self-assessment in order to continuously improve quality of teaching
Participating in regular teacher training workshops at Yuwa
Engaging with students' parents on a regular basis
Contributing to a positive and energetic learning environment
Leading small tuitions for Yuwa students who need extra help
Open Fellowship Positions

Standard 2 Teacher: A stationary position, this teacher will be responsible for teaching the core subjects (English, Science, Math, Hindi) to a class of approximately 10 girls. 
Math Teacher: This teacher will rotate to 4 different classes (between standards 4 - 8) on a daily basis and teach math in a challenging, dynamic way. This person should feel passionate about math and excited to share their interest in the subject. 
Social Science Teacher: This teacher will rotate to 4 different classes (between standards 4 - 8) on a daily basis and teach social science in a challenging, dynamic way. This teacher should feel passionate about geography, history, and social science; she/he should be excited to share their interest in the subject. 
Fellow Qualifications

University graduate
Experience teaching, tutoring, or mentoring students
Positive recommendation from Copy Watches past employers
Desired Skills 

Fluent in both Hindi and English 
Demonstrated mastery of the subject you will teach at the Yuwa School 
Strong organisationsal and record keeping skills 
Flexibility – able to work independently and also take direction as needed 
Strong communication skills and ability to build and maintain relationships with teachers, students and parents
Innovative and resourceful
Curiosity: desire to continue learning
Sense of urgency: desire to make the most of your students' time 
Salary:18,000 – 30,000 rs per month, dependent on background and Replica Watches qualifications.
