Activities:

AIM: (i) Provide opportunities for the student of develop spiritually, artistically, intellectually and physically. This is accomplished through our desire so emphasize to multiple perspectives. (ii) Graduates in dance will have a versatile, but quality foundational experience to begin a career in dance as a dance educator. (iii) Students will learn through dance that they can become better individuals by living the restored gospel for god, their roles as creative and artistic individuals, citizens and parents. (iv)Our goal is to challenge student to become individual thinkers, serve the community and make artistic efforts that reflect a richly complex and diverse global perspective.
 
OBJECTIVE: (i) Identify and work conceptually with the physical, emotional and theoretical elements of composition, style, pedagogy and performance. (ii) Demonstrate a fundamental knowledge of the body based on kinesiologically applied movement principals, somatic understanding and historical context within an LDS perspective. (iii) Exhibit performance and/or instructional proficiency in modern/ contemporary dance coupled with an awareness and appreciation of all genres of dance. (iv) Develop, articulate and defend analytical evalutions based on individual experience and synthesis within a diverse global framework. (v) Continue academic and performance studies of dance in graduate school. (vi) Access employment in teaching, choreography and performance.
 
MISSION: (i) To develop skillful, creative mastery of the body in dance context. (ii) To enhance knowledge and understanding of dance an aesthetic and artistic experience. (iii) To enrich personal and social development while interacting the others in a variety of structured contexts.
