The basic objective for which the society is established are :
The ultimate aim of the society SOCIO & ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT SOCIETY FOR DALITS (SEDSD) shall be to improve the quality of life of people of Karimganj District of Assam, India and other geographical areas within India in keeping with their individual and collective hope, aspiration within the context of their cultural tradition and keeping cope with the present social development strategies and to serve as a management tool for the all-round development of the area through various community centric programmes and community participation in general and vulnerable groups in particular, in social developmental action aiming special attention to socially, economically and geographically disadvantaged groups to check and eradicate the spread of poverty, inadequate health care, basic education, sanitation, housing, transportation and such other emerging social problems from time to time
