This non-governmental, charitable organization was established in 1967 in one of the most backward village in the district of Bastar in Indian state presently known as Chhattisgarh (then Madhya Pradesh). Its main aim was to provide health-care and education the poor and destitute of all caste and creed in the tribal communities in pursuance of the ideal of "service of God in man" as envisaged by Swami Vivekananda.
