Though the Trust is engaged in various activities, the first and foremost objective of the Trust is to conserve environment, to create awareness among the illiterate villagers and preventing them from destroying the forests. The Trust is also working hard to prevent the people of its target villages from cutting trees for firewood and to plant trees and saplings wherever the trees have been cut and the grass lands which are used for grazing sheep and cattle.
Due to sincere efforts and awareness programmes of the Trust, the villagers of its target area in Tiruvannamalai taluk have been immensely benefitted. The villagers have been given awareness through rallies and audio-visual aids on reforestation, afforestation, tree planting, conservation and protection of environment, pollution control and other activities.
The Trust thought it better to give free saplings and fruit trees to the villagers and advise them to plant them in their own houses and agricultural lands. A strong need was felt among the Trustees to take their efforts further vigorously as polluting of atmospheric heat is growing day by day resulting in poor monsoon and over-heating of our planet Earth. Therefore the Trust in consultation with the general public and environmental specialists has decided to protect and conserve environment of its target villages in a speedy manner and this Tiruvannamalai District is fully dependant on agriculture and the industrial growth is almost zero percentage.
