Activities: Education
The aim of SWAC is to develop excellent facilities for the special education, training and rehabilitation of individuals with autism within a structured, happy and caring environment allowing them to grow in confidence and independence, to feel safe and secure and to achieve their maximum potential. Create employment opportunities inside and outside SWAC enabling them to participate and integrate in society.

The main objectives include:
• Mass awareness campaign through newspaper, radio, TV and other media in order to create better understanding about autism among the public and professionals through out the country.
• Organise surveys all over the country to collect data about the number of individuals with autism in Bangladesh.
• Provide diagnosis, assessment and clinical services to individuals with autism.
• Arrange parent counseling.
• Arrange international standard training programs for teachers, professionals, parents and carers.
• Provide special education and training to individuals with autism starting from preschool age with planned growth upto adulthood.
• Provide vocational training to adults with autism.
• Arrange outing programs.
• Provide transport facilities to students and staff.
• Integrate high functioning children with autism into mainstream schools.
• Provide daycare facilities for children with working parents for after school hours.
• Arrange workshops, seminars and conferences.
• Establish contact with local, national and international organizations working with autism and other disabilities.
• Publish leaflets, posters, newsletters, magazines and books on autism.
• Provide sponsorship to individuals with autism coming from low-income families.
• Provide free treatment and special education to underprivileged disabled children.
• Provide speech and language therapy, occupational and sensory therapy and music therapy to the individuals with autism.
• Arrange computer classes.
• Develop partnership between parents and teachers.
• Develop adult work and activity program
• Create employment opportunities for individuals with autism inside and outside SWAC.
• Provide package program to individuals with autism not attending SWAC.
• Cafeteria program
• Provide services to individuals with autism all over the country.
• Set up resource centre
• Provide respite care services
• Work together with networking partner organizations
• Work together with sister organizations outside Dhaka
• Provide home rehabilitation program
• Lobby to the government in order to establish the rights of the individuals with autism
• Construct SWAC’s own complex in own land, providing special education and training centre, adult work and activity centre, clinic, auditorium, resource centre, teachers training centre, display centre and shop, bakery and cafeteria, residential facility, gymnasium, playground and a swimming pool for individuals with autism.
• Provide safe, caring enjoyable environment where individuals with autism can thrive and grow towards independence.
