Thalassaemia and Aids Prevention Society is a registered ngo and empanellnd ngo of State Thalassaemia Control Programme and associated with West Bengal State aids Prevention and Control Society Health and Family Welfare Department Govt of West Bengal our society have tried to reduceing the burden of hiv aids and Thalassaemia its stigma panic and discrimination by practicing what we preach that is functioning as a group of people living with hiv aids and thalassaemia and their friends that works in hand to hand to serve as a major force for social change Red Ribbon Cup Cricket Match for the first time in the world hiv aids affected persons participated and played in the cricket match against district level club team of west bengal we acquired a huge mass publicity and support from this particular event and successfully conveyed our message to the general people about the stigmas on hiv aids also we organise mass awareness generation programme on hiv aids and thalassaemia we organise scientific seminer rally street drama video shows debate exhibition press meet art compitition and workshops povide ambulance service organise voluntary blood donation camps and thalassaemia carrier detection camp we run a charitable care and support unit to benefit the hiv aids and thalssaemia affected members of our ngo nos of hiv aids affected person 175 and 190 nos of thalassaemia affectec persons our help line telephone service for the patients and general public for their queries
