We make grants of up to £30,000 over one to three years and provide access to business expertise to help our grantees achieve their goals.
The Fore is the only open-access funder in the UK offering development funding and strategic support to early-stage charities and social enterprises.
We are proud to be a funder without lengthy forms or restrictive criteria. We recognise you, our applicants, as the experts in your own fields so our process simply asks you to tell us who you are, what you need and how our funding will make a difference to your work. If we have any more questions, we will ask them of you individually.
We match successful applicants with friendly professional support – ongoing mentoring, strategic advice, governance support or other assistance. And because we are committed to helping all organisations learn, we give feedback to unsuccessful candidates and offer access to our regular, high quality training and networking events.
The Fore is a partner of the Big Lottery Fund.
What FORE is looking for: The Fore will fund any organisation that is small (annual income less than £1m) and charitable. You need to be UK registered, but can be a charity, social enterprise or community interest company. We make unrestricted grants which have the potential to have a transformational impact on an organisation. For example enabling your organisation to take a step forward in its development or giving you the chance to do something you couldn’t before. We see our grants as investments in the organisations we support. See here for work we have funded in the past
The Fore runs three twelve-week funding rounds to coincide with the academic calendar each year.
To apply for funding, organisations must register at the start of each funding round. Numbers for each round are capped to ensure we are able to give every applicant the attention it deserves. Registration is run on a first-come, first-serve basis and once the cap is reached, the round is closed, therefore please register early.
Once successfully registered, organisations are invited to submit a simple application via a secure weblink. For more details of what will be required please see our Guidelines for Applications document.
Registration for The Fore’s Summer 2017 funding round is now closed.
Please look out for our next funding round, due to open for registration on 24 July 2017.
