The Oxfam Confederation is made up of 17 Oxfam affiliates (including Oxfam GB) working across 92 countries. In 2009, all Oxfam affiliates decided to work more closely together as a global movement for change. Oxfam GB has been working in South Sudan since 1983. We aim to overcome poverty and inequality through the most effective, appropriate and enduring solutions. Oxfam’s institutional mandate is therefore threefold; development work, emergency humanitarian relief work & policy advocacy work. Oxfam South Sudan is currently implementing Development Programmes and humanitarian response programs in different parts of the country.  To deliver these programs, Oxfam is seeking to recruit a communications Officer for the development program.

As the Development Communication Officer, you will ensure that the development programme strategy is communicated, planned and implemented for behavioural change activities in line with Oxfam’s goal. You will design, manage, and facilitate the implementation rolex replica of programme communication strategy, plan of action and activities for strategic communication and promotion for social and behavioural change in support of efficient and effective attainment of Country Programme Results.

To be successful in this role you will have a degree or equivalent qualification in communication, social sciences (sociology, anthropology, physiology) or any other related field with emphasis in strategic communication planning for behavioural development, social mobilisation, participatory communication and research. You will have at least 3 years experience in a similar role, preferably with an international NGO; Experience of rural development communication, programme monitoring, reporting and analysis. Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to work effectively with teams; Experience working in complex and hard to work locations; and ability to work under pressure; Excellent communication skills in both spoken and written English; Computer skills are essential.

Knowledge of South Sudan context would be an added advantage.
