March, 2015 Aajeevika Bureau announces the Young Leaders Fellowship on Migration and Development for the year 2015. This fellowship supports young and passionate individuals in building a strong, grounded understanding of seasonal migration and develop skills for designing of livelihood services for migrant communities. Candidates with a demonstrated passion for new-age development issues, ideally some-one who wants to build a long term career in rural livelihoods and development is encouraged to apply. What to expect from the fellowship...
•Strong understanding of internal migration and the lacunae in state and market response •Meaningful exposure to rural realities and sensitization towards challenges of migrant communities •Skill building on design and implementation of services to migrant workers through program incubation •Focused mentoring on program leadership, communications and grassroots work Fellowship duration: One year (April 2015 – March 2016) Location: Mumbai and Ahmedabad Remuneration—25,000 per month Fellowship Requirements: A post-graduate degree in management, sociology, rural development, de-velopment studies and other relevant field is required. Candidates should have work experience of atleast 2 years in a relevant setting. Young professionals working in other sectors but seeking a change are encouraged to apply. The fellowship will require high inner drive and energy to incubate and lead pilot initiatives. S/he should posses strong analytical, and communication (both writing and presenta-tion) skills. The candidate should be fluent in Hindi and English. Knowledge of Marathi is highly desir-able. S/he must also be willing to travel during the fellowship period and adapt to different settings.
